Christmas in LA Downtown
With Christmas lighting, I ran into the same issues as with the depth of field. I had these great plans to get wonderful and cheezy Christmas pictures. I actually went to differrent parts of Los Angeles with my tripod but I haven’t found any really nice Christmas site. Maybe Christmas in LA is just not cheezy. This is simply how it looks – Christmas in LA Downtown.

This is such a fun shot. The cross screen filter is totally fun and I gotta say I constantly keep looking at the angel and the star and think wow- that’s amazing how that worked – it almost doesn’t even seem real. But then I start looking at the bottom of the picture and the cars and the light traveling there and that is so interesting too. You’ve got great composition the business of the bottom is definitely weighted perfectly with the dark sereness of the top of the picture. It also seems like a great picture for a church bulletin that points to the business of life needing to be slowed by the angel’s call… Great work Marika!
Dying to know did you have the cross screen filter already to did you get it after I suggested it? You used it brilliantly and I think the picture definitely has a magical element that would be missing without the cross screen effect.
Pam, this is silly, but after I read your post, I had to google the cross screen filter
I did not use it, I just left my circular polarizer on the lense and I guess that ‘s the reason why it looks like one with a cross screen filter.
Thank you very much for your comments though, now I know a little bit more about the photography again.
That is interesting…I was sure you had used the cross screen polarizer…I need to learn about and use more filters.
