Danni – I think this picture is beautiful. I love the color–it’s that early fall tone when there’s still a little bit of green. I love the contrast of the strong tree trunks. I could easily see a Smoky the Bear – Protect America’s Forests caption underneath it as a poster…
Great placement of the tree trunks – love that the ones in dead center aren’t the biggest or necessarily the highlight. I think off centering the closest ones works really well here makes you want to look deeper.
if anything I am a little bit distracted by the bottom left corner which shows depth of field but for me not necessarily bonus depth of field..it’s just an odd fuzzy tan triangle. If I were photoshopping the picture I would turn that into more leaves… but that’s just me. Sometimes those silly things creep into pictures and you don’t even quite realize its happened until you see the picture.
Lovely though! Pam
I agree completely with Pam! My eye kept wanting to run over there to the lower left corner.
Did you try this one horizontally as well? I will hop over to your smugmug site to take a look.
Danni, you captured the fall like I know it 🙂 I can almost hear the rustling of the trees. I think you did a great job with the composition too. I like that you do not show any ground or horizon or the top of trees in the frame… and it still looks like a complete picture.
The “corner thing” is a small distraction for me too. Fortunately, it can be fixed easily.
